SomTribune first came to life on 17 December 2014 to, primarily, provide relevant updates to a public inundated with false alarms, sensationalist ‘updates’, and fabricated pieces of so-called information.

This did not only apply to the Somali ‘publics’ but went further afield in a region that also included Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya.

SomTribune is a forward-looking, research-focused think news and analysis portal, focused on promoting peace, security, and development.

SomTribune’s years of cumulative experience, professionalism, and impartiality has over the years earned it, the reputation of a strong leader in the dissemination of relevant, timely and truthful information.

Our team conducts practical, rigorous, and impartial analysis informed by evidence, to shape intellectual debate and design practical policy solutions.
